J.D. Richey Sportfishing

J.D. Richey Sportfishing takes great pride in providing the best service in the industry and it is our goal to make your visit with us more than simply a fishing trip – think of it more as a mini vacation and day-long adventure.

About your guide
J.D. Richey is a nationally known outdoor author and a regular contributor to publications such as Field & Stream, Salmon Trout Steelheader, Western Outdoor News and Fishing & Hunting News. He's spent better than 20 years fishing these waters and is also licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard to operate vessels up to 100 miles offshore.

Boats
Our fleet features clean, safe and modern boats custom-tailored to our fishing styles. The 20-foot Willie driftboat will hold up to 4 anglers and the 20-foot Smoker jet sled can fish up to 5 people. The 22-foot Ranger bass boat also can carry loads of 4 anglers.

Equipment
We are affiliated with the best names in the fishing tackle industry, so you'll always fish with high grade, well-maintained gear. We're on the GLoomis, Shimano, Pautzke's and Sep's Pro Staffs.

Your full-day fishing trip generally begins at dawn and last 7 hours. Once on the water, your guide will give a brief seminar on the day's techniques and then fishing will begin. Depending on the river and fishing season, your float will be as many as 10 miles long. A week prior to the trip, we will contact you and give you detailed directions to the meeting location and what time to be there.
