Due to the fact that it's difficult to access, the Yuba is a beautiful river that offers plenty of elbow room and top-rate fishing. It produces year-round fishing for wild rainbow trout that can sometimes top 20 inches and, in the fall, it's also home to king salmon big enough to eat a trout of that size. It's the Yuba’s steelhead, however, that really make the river stand out. Though not huge (they run anywhere from 2-9 pounds), these half-pint steelies are among the hardest fighting and most beautiful fish you'll ever have the pleasure of encountering. The Yuba gets a good shot of them mid-summer and again in October, November and December.

As an added bonus, there are lots of wild critters roaming the Yuba's banks – big bucks, strutting toms, ducks and geese and even black bears. All that and good fishing to boot!
