Since 1998, JD has operated one of the most respected sportfishing charters in the West, culminating in his 2024 induction into the California Outdoor Hall of Fame.

His deep-rooted expertise has made JD a sought-after speaker, radio and TV show guest, and author. With a degree in Journalism, he's written literally thousands of fishing articles for magazines like Field & Stream, Western Outdoors, Salmon Trout Steelheader, Fish Alaska and many more. JD's also written several books dedicated to helping anglers master the craft.

 

Whether he’s pioneering light-tackle techniques on Lake Tahoe or scouting trophy Cutthroat at Pyramid Lake, JD’s mission remains the same: providing a professional, fun, and high-success environment for families and hardcore anglers alike.
